About.Jonathan Preiser is a former US Navy Submariner. In the Navy, Jonathan was a Reactor Operator and worked as an instructor at the Navy's Nuclear Power Training Unit in Idaho and as a Reactor Operator onboard submarines. At the time of his departure from military service, Jonathan was the Reactor Controls Division Chief on the USS Glenard P Lipscomb. Following his military career, Jonathan went on to become a Nuclear Engineer at Norfolk Naval Shipyard (NNSY) where he was an Assistant Chief Test Engineer for the overhaul of the reactor plants of nuclear submarines.
In the early 1990's, as part of his engineering duties, Jonathan became involved in the modernization and computerization of the Nuclear Engineering Department at NNSY. Eventually, he became the full time administrator for computer networks at NNSY and was instrumental in developing and implementing Navy networks that supported thousands of users worldwide. In 1999, Jonathan started Preiser Computing and Consulting (PC&C) as a side line, taking on only very few clients so as not no conflict with his Navy duties. Since retiring as a Navy Civilian he has been expanding PC&C and making his company's services available to a larger client base. |
